Before moving from a sample to production, it is important to look beyond the overall appearance of the garment.
Good garment quality starts with checking the details that affect fit, construction and final presentation.
1. Measurements
Compare the sample measurements with your approved size specifications. Small measurement differences can become important when producing a full collection.
2. Fit
Try the garment on or use the appropriate fit model. Check how it sits on the body and whether the proportions match your design.
3. Stitching
Look carefully at seams, hems, joins and other construction areas. Stitching should be appropriate for the garment and fabric.
4. Fabric & Trims
Check whether the fabric, buttons, zippers, labels and other materials match the approved specifications.
5. Finishing
Inspect loose threads, pressing, hems, labels and the overall presentation of the finished garment.
Taking time to check a sample can help identify changes before production moves forward.
A carefully reviewed sample gives both the clothing brand and manufacturer a clearer production reference.
