A clothing design is only the beginning. Before a garment reaches a customer, it goes through several important production stages.
A well-organized clothing production process helps transform a design into a finished garment while keeping fit, construction and quality requirements in focus.
1. Design & Specifications
Production begins with the garment design. Brands may provide a sketch, tech pack, measurements, reference garment or other specifications.
2. Sampling
A sample is developed to check the garment before moving into larger production. Fit, measurements, fabric and construction can be reviewed at this stage.
3. Cutting
Once the specifications are approved, the fabric is prepared and cut according to the required patterns.
4. Stitching
The cut pieces are assembled through the required stitching and construction methods.
5. Quality Checking
The finished garments are checked for measurements, stitching, construction and finishing according to the agreed requirements.
6. Finishing & Packing
Finally, garments are finished, folded and packed according to the brand’s requirements.
A clear production process gives clothing brands better control over their products and helps create consistency from one order to the next.
